Who are the JoyCon Gamers and what are we about?
This question and answer are so simple that it is going to be really hard to write an entire paragraph to explain it when one sentence would suffice. We, at JoyCon Gamers, are simply put gamers just like you. When the website was founded it was founded with one simple idea behind it. Give Switch gamers a place to go that is curated by Switch gamers, specifically for Switch gamers.
Our vision, very much like who we are, is a very simple concept as well. We began with an idea, an idea to serve up the most unbiased news source, unbiased reviews, and ethical opinion articles for and about Nintendo’s newest console the Nintendo Switch.
We also wanted to do the same for the Nintendo 3DS family of handheld consoles.
We are dedicated to bringing you bias-free news, reviews, and previews of Nintendo Switch games and accessories, along with news, reviews, and previews of Nintendo 3DS games and accessories. We will occasionally bring you some personal thoughts and opinions on the video gaming world, along with happenings in the Nintendo universe including mobile offerings, and traditional media offerings such as movies and TV shows.
We plan to stick to this vision, for as long as people keep visiting us. If you feel we have not upheld this vision with any of our articles, feel free to let us know. The media is supposed to serve the public, to be kept in check by the public, and to enrich the public life. Without you, there is no us.

Our Review Scale
Our goal is to be unique and diverse while giving our readers quality reviews of your favorite games. Our reviewers reflect this goal and aim to provide you with the best reviews to help you decide if you should try a game or not. While most of our reviews will follow the outline described below, some of our reviews will not have a numerical value attached to them. It is up to each individual reviewer to decide if he or she wants to give the review a numerical score, or just a written review.
In most of our written reviews we break it down into 5 sections – Story, Audio, Visuals & Performance, Gameplay, Value and use these to provide an overall score.
Our review scale is a 1-10 review scale. We do this to provide you with an “at-a-glance” sense of the games overall quality. Below is our scoring scale:
- 10 – Essential
- 9 – Superb
- 8 – Great
- 7 – Good
- 6 – Fair
- 5 – Mediocre
- 4 – Poor
- 3 – Bad
- 2 – Terrible
- 1 – Abysmal
With this being said, as times goes on, standards will change and a game that scored a 10 a few years ago may not be a 10 today. Keep this in mind, we will not change our past scores to keep up with the times.
