The original opening date was to be in late July before the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. This decision was made with the intention of prioritizing park goers health with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Nikkei reports that the opening could be pushed back as far as 2021 depending on the ongoing infection rate with COVID-19., while it could debut as early as this fall. The theme park is almost complete with some small finishing touches being added.
