Earlier this month Paramount Pictures released a trailer for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie, and the reaction from Sonic fans was less than what was expected. After the fan backlash to the design of Sonic in the trailer, director Jeff Fowler quickly announced that they would work on a redesign of the Sonic character.
With this news, there was criticism that this would put a lot of pressure on the visual effects artists to have the movie done by the original release date of the movie which brought up concerns of long hours. To put this concern to rest, Fowler today took to Twitter to announce that Paramount had delayed the release of the movie by three months.
Now, the director has announced that the movie would be released on Valentines Day, February 14th, 2020, giving the visual effects team four more months to perfect their vision of the character.
