Next Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Character Announced Soon

Nintendos E3 2019 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament has come and gone, and Nintendo has not announced the next DLC character for the highly popular mash-up fighting game.

However, the director for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Masahiro Sakurai did appear in a video message after the event was over to congratulate Team Japan for winning and then provided an update for the games DLC.

“As for me, I’ll be continuing my work on the next DLC fighter, and more information regarding that will be shared in the Nintendo Direct for E3 2019, so I hope you’re looking forward to it,” Sakurai said.

Nintendo of America President, Doug Bowser teased more information being released during Nintendos E3 Direct that will be released on Tuesday at 9 AM PT.

“I think many of you are gonna want to tune in next week to see what, or who, [Sakurai] may be talking about,” he said.

Bowser also announced an online open tournament for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that will happen later this month. The four winners of that tournament will compete in a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament during the Evo 2019 Championships this upcoming August.

Nintendo’s E3 Direct presentation will be released 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET on Tuesday, June 11. Check back here at JoyCon Gamers to keep up to date with what is announced during this E3 Direct.

I grew up on the Atari, Nintendo Entertainment System and the Sega Genesis. I started my love affair with gaming with Mario, as most kids do, and continued it with Dragon Warrior(Dragon Quest for those who don't know history). Some of my favorite games growing up were the simplest, with Adventure for the Atari 2600 being one of the games I had the most fun with. Still to this day I enjoy that game, and those duck looking dragons. Today I play a variety of games when my mind will let me, which comes in spurts. Right now I am playing a bit of Minecraft.
