Media Create Sales Figure For Week 2 in Japan

Nintendo saw two new releases for the Switch in the second week of 2019, with New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe grabbing the top spot with 168,303 copies sold for its opening week according to the latest Media Create sales charts.

Also launching last week was Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition. While the title did sell more units on the PlayStation 4, it brought in a respectable 26,588 units on the Switch.

Hardware Sales

Nintendo once again held on to its firm grip on top of the hardware charts in Japan with the Nintendo Switch selling 78,056 units. This brings it ahead of the PlayStation 4 at 18,301 units and 5,704 units for the aging Nintendo 3DS family of consoles.
