Nintendo announced today, that a new Mario Kart game is in development, but not for the Nintendo Switch this time. Mario Kart Tour is the titles name, and it will launch on mobile devices before the end of March 2019.
Nintendo wrote a cryptic tweet about the title, “The checkered flag has been raised and the finish line is near.” No other details were released along with the tweet, so we are left to wonder what kind of mobile app it will be, and if it will work alongside a new Mario Kart title for the Switch.

We will bring you any information about Mario Kart Tour as it is released by Nintendo. With the latest Mario Kart title being Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Switch, which is a remaster of the Wii U title of the same name, it would make sense for Nintendo to have a new title in development that is exclusively for the Switch. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition launched to much fanfare in 2017.
