Japan Famitsu charts for 7th August 2019

Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has published its estimated physical video game software and hardware sales for Japan for the week spanning from July 29 to August 4.

Software Sales

Super Mario Maker 2 continues its reign of excellent sales reaching 36,486 units sold for the week, pushing its lifetime sales close to half a million. Fire Emblem: Three Houses comes in a very close second place with 35,804 units sold. Nintendo continued its domination of the Japanese software scene with 9 of the top 10 titles with just one PlayStation 4 title coming at #4. Check out the full sales charts below.

Hardware Sales

On to the hardware sales, the Switch kept its top spot with 36,613 units sold, followed up by the PlayStation 4 family of consoles with 10,054, and the 3DS family of handhelds sold 2,610 units. The Xbox One family sold a very respectable 48 units for the week, just behind the PS Vita’s 115 units.
